The celebrated chef made history as the first woman in the United States to be awarded three Michelin stars for her restaurant L’Atelier Crenn in 2019. Inspired by her parents’ deep appreciation for culinary arts, the talented chef from San Francisco set out on a journey to pursue formal culinary training in the United States at the age of 24.

With unwavering passion and determination, Dominique Crenn quickly rose through the ranks, becoming the first female executive chef at the Intercontinental Hotel in Jakarta, Indonesia. Upon returning to San Francisco, Crenn made her mark at the renowned Luce before realizing her lifelong dream in 2011 with the opening of Atelier Crenn, her debut restaurant in the iconic city.

Atelier Crenn is not just a restaurant, but a masterpiece of culinary storytelling, with a beautifully designed interior that reflects Crenn’s philosophy of ‘poetic culinaria’. Each dish on the menu has its own unique narrative, a reflection of Crenn’s artistic approach to cuisine. Within months of its opening, Atelier Crenn was awarded its first Michelin star, a momentous achievement.

The following year, Crenn made history as the first female chef in the United States to oversee a two-starred restaurant, breaking barriers and serving as an inspiration in a traditionally male-dominated industry.

In Paris, she embarks on her first international venture, in the land of her birth. Crenn will be overseeing all three of the hotel’s dining venues, including the highly anticipated Golden Poppy restaurant, as well as the Poppy Café and the Rooftop. On the plate, the accomplished chef promises to return “to her young years in France and her love for California, which conveys open and sharing values, reactivates the link between the table and nature.” 24 rue Cadet, 75009 Paris. goldenpoppy.com
